Birsay Bay Tearoom is situated on the northerly tip of Orkney mainland and has panoramic views overlooking the Brough of Birsay and towards Marwick Head.

Where are we?
Take the turning to the Birsay village, going past the majestic Earl's Palace on your left, the historic St Magnus Church on your right, over the old stone bridge and keep going for around a quarter of a mile. The Tearoom is located at the end of the road, tucked in behind the greenhouses of Birsay Tomatoes. Look out for and follow our signs!

Just a 20 minute Bus or Car Journey from Kirkwall. We serve an All Day Traditional Menu with Daily Specials, with a wide range of Home Bakes and a large selection of Hot and Cold drinks. Helgis design takes inspiration from Orkney’s Viking past, a traditional pub with a slate floor and wooden panelled walls, it’s small but perfectly formed. The ground floor bar is well stocked with draft and bottled beers, wines and spirits plus a good selection of malts. Helgi's is strictly over 18's only.

Our cakes and scones are freshly baked each day on the premises, with a wide range to choose from, there is something for everyone. We also offer afternoon tea between 2pm and 4pm, sandwiches, scones and cakes all served on a cake stand, too good to resist!
