We stayed on Westray for a few days during our delightful 2 week tour of the Orkney Islands. We wished we had stayed a day or two more as we really enjoyed the remoteness and tranquillity. Having said that, its nice to find a good old traditional Fish & Chip shop serving up delicious fresh produce on the island. You are pretty limited for restaurants on the island, but the quality of the food here is as good, if not better than you will find anywhere.

As far as I know this is the only chippy on the island, and its a good one. The family owned business specialise in fish so the fish is as fresh as you can get anywhere. Its not open every day of the week, or wasn't when we wre there, but it was out of season.

Love this island, it has everything you need and the fact that it has a chippy that sells the freshest fish you are going to find is an added bonus. Its situated in Pierowall and its a nice walk from Westray Marina. You can also buy fresh fish from their shop.
