Hi! I’m Georgie and I’ve owned Birsay Bay Tearoom for more than 10 years. It has been a passion project from the beginning. We aim to make the most of Orkney’s wonderful produce, serving hearty homecooked food to visitors and locals.
We specialise in baked sweet treats like cakes and tray-bakes. We love how our baking puts smiles on people’s faces.

We have just looked at Birsay tea room on Google and ot states that its temporally closed? is this just because its out of season? We really enjoyed the food there when we were last in Orkney and we hope to return in March. Will it be open by then and if so will it be the same lady?

Birsay Bay Tea Room
We took a trip out to Birsay and called in Birsay Bay Tea Room. What a lovely cafe with nice views of the sea. The food was lovely, but the specialties have to be the home baked cakes. Leave plenty of room for one when eating your main course, or take a few away with you. Absolutely delightful.

If your looking at photo opportunities and great food, would definately recommend the birsay Bay Tea room, staff are so great as well, will be back next year!
