The Lynnfield is a small country-house hotel, looking northwards over Orkney’s capital, to Kirkwall Bay and the north isles beyond. We offer beautifully furnished accommodation, with each room being unique and carefully decorated. We are also renowned for the exceptional food which is presented from our restaurant, perfect for a romantic meal whilst looking over the Orkney countryside.
The accommodation at The Lynnfield hotel consists of ten, fully fitted bedrooms and suites, meaning we can give individual attention to all our guests. As a privately owned business you will be looked after with a genuine warm welcome and friendly efficient service throughout your visit. The hotel has 36 en-suite rooms with a great range of facilities, our excellent harbour view restaurant offering an extensive menu featuring the best local produce has to offer, relaxing lounge, function rooms, lounge bar and public bar. For your convenience the hotel is Dog friendly.

Skaill House Apartments
Skaill House holiday accommodation comprises of two spacious self-catering apartments situated in a private wing of Skaill House - the finest mansion house in Orkney.
Situated next to the stunning Bay of Skaill, and the Neolithic village of Skara Brae, our two four star holiday apartments are self-contained in the North Wing of Skaill house and form two sides of a sheltered courtyard. They have their own private entrance and access to a garden, and are ideal for family holidays beside the beach, or as a romantic venue for couples. Dogs are also very welcome here.
Both Apartments have undergone major renovation work throughout the winter of 2016/2017. Extensive cosmetic and structural improvements have created a very high standard of accommodation, graded by Visit Scotland’s Quality Assurance Scheme as a strong four star.
Holiday lets are available from Saturday to Saturday, and short breaks may be available during off-peak times or upon arrangement where possible. Skaill House has a well- stocked shop selling quality local food and drink, arts, crafts and books, and the nearby Skara Brae visitor centre has a lovely small restaurant serving meals throughout the day, seven days a week (April to October). Guests staying in the apartments have free access to Skaill House (by arrangement out of season), and get a 10% discount in the gift shop (excluding jewellery and alcohol).
Both apartments have WiFi access, and use of a utility room with a washing machine and tumble dryer. There is ample car parking space, a spacious lawned garden, a sheltered courtyard, and the beach and excellent coastal walks are only 200 metres away. All bed linen and towels are provided and weekly cleaning, electricity and fuel costs are included in the price of your stay. There is also enough space to store bikes and other outdoor equipment if an outdoors holiday is on your agenda.
