MATCHROOM BOXING RUMBLE ON THE ROCK
Great news for Gibraltar and the businesses. Eddie Hearn is taking his Matchroom show to Gibraltar and although it looks like the public may not be able to attend, the size of Matchroom’s roadshow can’t be anything else but good news for Gibraltar.
And what a show Eddie is putting on! Dillian Whyte v Alexander Povetkin 2 on 27th March Is the main event and Matchroom always have a very strong undercard, so this is going to be one hell of an event?
Matchroom Sport Managing Director Eddie Hearn said: “In the current environment we are always having to think on our feet. We did everything to try and make March 6 happen, but with the new travel restrictions it was impossible. Now we have something outside the box, compelling, and a unique setting for one of the Heavyweight Fights of the Year – roll on the Rumble on the Rock!”
Most visitors to the Harbourguides website will be aware that, as well as keen sailors we also love our boxing and follow it closely, but this rematch with Whyte and Povetkin is one we are all really looking forward to.
If you are part of the limited attendance, or are visiting Gibraltar take a look at our Gibraltar Harbour Guide for information: https://www.harbourguides.com/harbours/Gibraltar
Or our La Linea Guide: https://www.harbourguides.com/harbours/Alcaidesa_Marina_La_Linea
Here you will find information on Accommodation, Restaurants, Bars, Entertainment etc.
If, like the vast majority of people, you cant make it to the event, you can watch on DAZN and Sky Box Office. Get it booked and get settled for what we think is going to be an incredible night on Gibraltar.
And from all the Harbourguides Crew, as much as we admire and appreciate Povetkin, we will be shouting for a Dillian victory.
But most of all we wish every boxer the best of luck and all return to their families safe and well. You are a special breed and every single one of you is a winner!
Who knows, in years to come, people may be talking about the “Rumble On The Rock” in the same way we still talk about the “Rumble In The Jungle” Now wouldn’t that be something?

What venue in Gibraltar is the Whyte V Povetkin boxing on?
What is the name of the venue for the boxing?
I have some friends in Spain who are boxing crazy. They want to get to Gibraltar for the Whyte Povetkin Rumble On The Rock fight. They dont think thay will be able to get tickets to the show, but just want to be there to seee all the boxers and trainers. Can they pass through the border with negative covid tests? Three of them are English and one is Spanish.
COME ON DILLIAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Estoy en España cerca de la frontera con Gibraltar. Soy español y me gustaría conocer mis derechos para entrar en Gibraltar?
I dont think its possible for people to travel from the UK to Gibraltar without special reasons, as in essential workers. Government guidelines were that there was to be no holidays at all as yet, even in England. So I am not holding up much hope, but as you say, there are other ways to watch from home.
it’s difficult to guarantee or rule out anything at the moment. Things change every day. Let’s just hope the fight goes ahead and if we can’t attend, then its Sky Box Office or DAZN. Either way its going to be a great night!
With the new government guidelines that were released yeasterday, I think its still not possible to travel to gibraltar from UK unless you have official work etc,
Hi Si Z
Again, we are not qualified to answer. Travel restrictions are changing all the time. The fight is only four or five weeks away, so I think there will have to be some extreme changes before this is possible. But keep positive
If the event isnt open to fans, is it still possible to visit gibraltar from the UK to take in the atmosphere?
Hi Gav
We can't comment on anything antone has said in interviews, but we really hope this is true, as this fight deserves fans there. Fingers crossed
Hi Kris
We don't think the actual venue details have been released as yet? All we know is the date of 27th March and the event is Gibraltar. We will update when we here anything more.
