Tarbert (derived from An Tairbeart, the Gaelic for 'crossing') combines a perfect harbour for sailors with the charm of a traditional fishing village and myriad attractions for those interested in our natural environment and historic heritage.

Situated in the beautiful working fishing village of Tarbert, Argyll and Bute, we are a long-established 8 bedroom hotel with a bar, beer garden, lounge and function room. Our aim is to offer affordable comfort and a warm welcome in our well-stocked bar. We offer over 50 local whiskies, many from the nearby Island of Islay, known for its many distilleries. The hotel is ideally situated for an overnight stay before catching the ferry to Islay. Tarbert offers a variety of shops, bars and restaurants amid a backdrop of unique landmarks and outstanding scenery.
