All our food is freshly prepared using local produce where possible and our evening specials board is regularly updated to ensure a great variety of fresh tasty dishes.
No 55 menu is distinctively Italian with European influences. Our Chefs produce thoughtful and beautifully presented dishes of great flavour and character. The menu reflects our desire to create dishes that remain in the memory and linger on the taste buds. The wine list is small, interesting and carefully chosen, wines to complement the menu and the season.

The Prawle Point Lookout has a 240° arc of visibility over the sea off the southern tip of Devon – and this sea area includes the entrance to the attractive and popular Salcombe harbour.
A team of around 60 trained and qualified volunteer watchkeepers share daylight watches operating every day of the year. The station is equipped with telescopes, radar, radio and telephone as well as up to date charts. Through close cooperation with the Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA), NCI at Prawle Point earned its "Declared Facility Status" in 2000, enabling us to become an integral part of the National Search and Rescue structure.

Menai Marine build a range of Ribs, sports and fishing boats with hulls designed for sea keeping comfort and security.
Our rib range are second to none and built to last, GRP structural chassis, moulded hulls and decks mean that with a Menai Rib you know your hull interior is not degrading from the first time you put it in the water.
Menai also build the Sea Ranger Rigid tubed boat. Extremely stylish and purpose full. It is a positive buoyancy boat that is equal to any rib, but the solid tubes do not puncture, and contain storage hatches. The benefits to this boat are numerous and we have yet to find a down side.
Menai Marine are also builders of modern fishing and sports boats. Continuously developing but all in keeping with the same philosophy, 4x4’s for the sea. With comfort and style.

Yacht Club
Salcombe is located at the southern tip of Devon. The large sheltered estuary is very popular with dinghy sailors and holiday makers. Salcombe is used by yachts as a base for cruising the south west coastline and as a point of departure for the Channel Islands and France.
Salcombe Yacht Club organises regular dinghy racing, cadet sailing, cruiser races and rallies. Merlin Rocket Week (100 boats entered - the maximum allowed - with a waiting list in 2007) and SYC Regatta Week (290 boats in 2007) take place in July and August. A social programme offers activities throughout the year.
The Club House offers a grandstand view of the harbour from its terrace. Showers are available for visiting yachtsmen. There is a well stocked bar and hot and cold food is offered at most lunchtimes and evenings. The Club House has rooms that can be booked for private functions and has a wireless internet connection.

When Salcombe Yacht Club celebrated its Centenary in 1984, local historian Sonia Parkinson dipped into the clubs records and history to produce the historical story of the Club which was distributed to the membership. Now 13 years on, Nick Walker has delved into his archives and produced an electronic copy for all to enjoy!

No visit to Salcombe would be complete without a visit to the immensely interesting Salcombe Maritime and Local History Museum. The exhibitions change annually to keep regular visitors coming back again and again. This museum will take you down memory lane to the days of the smugglers, ship builders and the fast fruit schooners of the 19th century. The children will love the hands-on displays, there are ship models, boatyard models, old photographs, paintings and shipwreck artifacts.

The Prawle Point Lookout has a 240° arc of visibility over the sea off the southern tip of Devon – and this sea area includes the entrance to the attractive and popular Salcombe harbour.
A team of around 60 trained and qualified volunteer watchkeepers share daylight watches operating every day of the year. The station is equipped with telescopes, radar, radio and telephone as well as up to date charts. Through close cooperation with the Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA), NCI at Prawle Point earned its "Declared Facility Status" in 2000, enabling us to become an integral part of the National Search and Rescue structure.
