All bedrooms have been individually designed in a classic contemporary style. Where possible, and particularly in the older part of the building, the owners have tried to retain many of the original features, and there are many! Consequently, all rooms are slightly different both in size and character. Each is perfectly appointed with a writing desk, flat screen TV and Nespresso coffee machines. Larger rooms have the added benefit of traditional Maltese balconies or private sun terraces. Bathrooms are modern, and all come equipped with a walk-in shower or bath and Molton Brown amenities.

The Preca sisters (Ramona and Roberta) both worked at their family restaurant Tal-Familja in Marsascala. They were both in their mid-twenties and at such a young age one would easily be tempted to think that it was there that they cut their gastronomic teeth. In truth, it transpires that they were already veterans by this time after having spent much of their childhood fiddling in their father’s kitchen at the mythical King’s Own Band Club in Valletta.
It was there that the girls learnt their ropes under the keen, imposing watchful eye of their father Charles, helping out in the chopping of parsley, capers, olives and any other ingredients which would adorn the club’s mouthwatering appetizers.

On approach, the breakwater with St Elmo lighthouse located at its eastern end is easy to identify. Leave this to starboard, and the short breakwater off Fort Ricasoli to port. Fort St Angelo is then rounded to port to enter the final approach channel, which is marked with small red and green buoys. Call us on VHF channel 13 for berthing instructions.
Yachts should also contact Valletta Port Control on channel 12 when 12 miles out, and may be asked to call again one mile from the entrance, depending on the movement of commercial traffic within the harbour.

The Diacono family is somewhat synonymous with food. Grandfather Charles Wirth, a banker by profession, had a passion for good food, not to mention for having a good time too. He involved himself in the opening of catering establishments in Valletta and Buskett. Needless to say that this love for good food, inherently rubbed onto his daughters Rita and Therese who in turn did not miss the opportunity to do the same with their children. Rita, with the occasional help of her eleven children prepared an average of 14,235 meals a year just to feed her family in what was a very large kitchen by today’s standard.
