Haven Covers specialises in bespoke boat covers. Located in the sailing town of Lymington and situated in Lymington Yacht Haven we are close at hand to meet your needs. As Cover Makers we offer a full cover service, we don't pick and choose, so whatever size or type of boat cover you require, be it a single hatch cover, a winch cover, or a complete cockpit canopy, to a full winter cover, we have you requirements covered.
The owner of Haven Covers, Jerry Clark, started out as a Cover Maker upon leaving school in 1977. Since that time he has also turned his skills to other trades such as owning and manufacturing traditional bespoke farmhouse furniture, as well as spending nine years within the upholstery trade, although his creative skills and enjoyment in making covers has always been maintained and in high demand.
On his first day as an apprentice Cover Maker, Jerry was asked the question by his mentor; “Anyone can make covers, but few can make good covers. Which do you want to be?”
Since that day, Jerry became, and remains to be, one of the few.
The Jeremy Rogers name is one associated with seamanship, craftsmanship and beautiful boats.
Operating from the Jeremy Rogers boat yard at the Lymington Yacht Haven the Jeremy Rogers team have all the skills and equipment necessary to repair, maintain or refurbish your boat - or to build you a new Contessa 32.
Since the 1970's the business has also been at the leading edge of building with composite materials. Atlas Carbon Products is the trading name of this branch of Jeremy Rogers Limited.
Whilst Jeremy himself has stepped down as Managing Director of the firm in favour of his son Kit, he is still a regular presence at the yard and on hand to pass on his life time of skill and experience.
Kit Rogers, the new Managing Director of Jeremy Rogers Limited has been involved with the family business on and off since his late teens. He spent 11 years at sea as a yacht captain giving him many of the problem solving skills necessary to help guide and advise our customers and to see that jobs run smoothly and on schedule.
West Solent Boat Builders Limited has traded on this site for over 40 years and the fact that the present Managing Director was the senior founding partner lends a continuity rarely found in today’s world.
In the early years the business traded as a partnership with a significant interest in the building and fitting out of commercial fishing vessels and yachts up to 40’LOA. This work was carried out in addition to providing the usual range of repair and lay-up facilities to the local yachtsmen.
With the virtual demise of the inshore fishing industry in recent years, it was decided to cease building and to concentrate on providing owners of sailing yachts and power craft with a comprehensive, reliable and friendly service.
