LYMINGTON

Situated on the shores of the Solent at the southern edge of the New Forest, the picturesque Georgian market town of Lymington is a world famous sailing resort. Each year thousands of visiting seafaring types are amply catered for by two sizeable world-class marinas and two sailing clubs. The Old town Quay is popular with tourists and offers private sailing instruction, motor boating, fishing trips and ferry rides to Yarmouth on the Isle of Wight. There is also a 19th century open-air heated swimming pool just a short walk from the quayside.

The High Street is reached via a series of unique cobbled streets and is overlooked by the 13th century St. Thomas’ Parish Church. Lined with designer boutiques, independent outlets, gift shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants, the High Street also plays host to Saturdays bustling street market. There are also several parks in and around the town and a state of the art leisure centre. For those who desire a bit of outdoor adventure there is, of course a magnificent 145 square miles of the New Forest on the doorstep.

An absolutely beautiful town with more than enough to keep the discerning visitor happy, Lymington makes an ideal destination for a seaside holiday and a perfect kicking off point from which to explore the fascinating Hampshire coast.

Really found this guide helpful on our recent visits. One or two of the businesses were now closed, but had only recently done, so cant really criticise you for that.
Other than that its been a really great help
Thanks

Lovely bar restaurant with an interesting menu. Really close to the marina. We were told that it had recently undergone a major refurbishment, its to a very high standard. Didnt see the hotel rooms, but if they are on a par with the bar and the food, then they will be perfect.

Best restaurants in Lymington:
Hi we used your site when we were in Gibraltar and found it very useful. We were impressed with the marine services section, as we needed them quite a lot. But to be honest we used the restaurant and hotel guide section more. I hope you show a large selection of restaurants bars and hotels on this Lymington guide as although we do need marine services, charts, weather etc. and all the other informative information you provide, pubs restaurants and hotels are equally as important.
Rant over, keep up the good work!

Terrible news about the Binoculars being stolen from the yacht club. They are German Carl Zeiss Binoculars used by the German Military in WW2.If you have any ideas about who might have taken them, please contact the yacht club on the number below.

Casual and sloppy attitude resulting in poor service.

Go elsewhere is my advice.

After a 4 week wait and 4 journeys to check and chase, I find only half of what I requested had been ordered and delivered..

I want to say how comfortable it is-you could wear really casual clothes or dress up-this place is all about the pride they have in presenting you with delicious food-beautiful to look at and even better to taste. The price is amazing for the quality. We were so impressed. Try it-you won’t be disappointed.

West Solent Boat Builders
West Solent Boat Builders Limited has traded on this site for over 40 years and the fact that the present Managing Director was the senior founding partner lends a continuity rarely found in today’s world.
In the early years the business traded as a partnership with a significant interest in the building and fitting out of commercial fishing vessels and yachts up to 40’LOA. This work was carried out in addition to providing the usual range of repair and lay-up facilities to the local yachtsmen.
With the virtual demise of the inshore fishing industry in recent years, it was decided to cease building and to concentrate on providing owners of sailing yachts and power craft with a comprehensive, reliable and friendly service.

Details & Reviews (0)Sea Jay's Sailing School
RYA Courses
What We Do At Sea Jay’s we teach students at their own pace, whilst making the training fun and enjoyable. No one is expected or asked to tackle anything outside their own comfort zone. Students are assessed for their strengths and weaknesses at the end of each day during an evening debrief. Our aim is to make sure that everyone is enjoying the experience. Sea Jay’s are proud to be contracted by the Ministry of Defence for private sail training, and proud supporters of the Defence Discount Scheme and Bluelight Card for NHS, Police and emergency services. The Team As of the start of December 2016, Fiona Vander took up the opportunity to run Sea Jays Solent Sailing School. With her infectious laughter and ever happy persona, Fiona decided that it was time to ‘spruce up’ the school ready for 2017. This includes focusing initially on our two yachts Sea Breeze and Sea Lily, which underwent a major refit programme. Her newly appointed Chief Instructor for Sail Cruising & Powerboat, Jamie Griffin, has joined Fiona and is busy turning the school plans into reality and giving the best on the water tuition as possible. The Future We are going to be upgrading and changing lots of parts of our business, even as far as a smart sailing kit for our instructors, and we will be offering more courses with more availability’ For more information about the exciting changes call Fiona or email us on the details below – we can’t wait to hear from old and new friends.
