In March 2006 The Borough opened its doors to the people of Lancaster with the promise to serve honest, quality, locally sourced produce at reasonable prices in beautiful surroundings.
At the core of our business is our promise to you to serve local produce and, wherever possible, purchase from local suppliers directly. We firmly believe in supporting our nearest and dearest, all our chicken and eggs are free range; our beef is 45 day aged from local farms in the surrounding hills and valleys. We try, wherever possible, to use local and independent suppliers, keeping our carbon footprint low and our local economy buzzing.
We are also delighted to be able to host many functions in the Drawing Room upstairs. From weddings & civil partnerships to christenings, birthdays even divorce parties for 2 to 80 people. We specialise in tailor-making your event to suits your needs, tastes and budget.

Here at Dalton Arms Geoff and Debbie run a fantastic village pub with a history dating back to the 18th Century. Located in Glasson Dock, 5 miles South of Lancaster & West of M6 Junction 33 you will find us tucked away right alongside the Port of Lancaster quay side. With great views of the working dock, fantastic country walks and wildlife in abundance we are a great place to come and visit. A traditional menu awaits the hungry guest. We use ingredients sourced locally, freshly prepared and indulgent, we’re sure you'll keep coming back for more.

Set alongside the peaceful banks of the Lancaster Canal, 1740 Bar & Kitchen is rooted in history while thoughtfully designed for modern, relaxed dining. The building dates back to 1740, when it was originally established as a working mill, forming an important part of the area’s industrial heritage. Today, that rich past is still evident in the character of the building, carefully preserved and complemented by considered modern upgrades.
Sitting at the heart of Pyes Mill, the 1740 bar and kitchen has been created first and foremost as a welcoming space for locals and visitors alike, somewhere you can drop in for a relaxed drink or settle in to enjoy honest, hearty local food made with locally sourced produce, all in a calm canal-side setting.

Merchants 1688, located in Lancaster, UK, boasts a rich history that dates back to its establishment in the late 17th century.
All our meals are freshly prepared on site using the best locally sourced ingredients, the meat coming from the fells and fields of Cumbria and Lancashire, and the fish delivered fresh from Fleetwood.

We are a family owned and run Italian restaurant since Febuary 2000, always providing the best service.
We pride ourselves on home cooked quality food, only using the best ingredients. All of our dishes can be changed in order to suit all tastes and preferences.
Struggling for a gift? We offer gift vouchers that are available to buy in the restaurant. We are located in the centre of Lancaster town.
