Went in the Stork one New Years Eve a few years ago.
At 8pm we were refused a drink and told they were closing, never been in since.
Very rude South African person was in charge

A lot of years ago (36 or so) I was on a market In Colne Lancashire and a gent called Graham from the Filed coast Lithham I think used to have a junk stall selling stuff that was left over from house clearances ect, I bought an 8mm projector from him to show my kids on, some 8mm film that I took when they were small. They were some reels of film with the projector, taken buy an amateur film maker, a very good one ,going off the quality of his speech and pronouncement,. Some were of Wales with steam trains and mountains ,One of the river Wire, and best of all one of the Loon! and Glasson Dock that must have been taken when the port was still a going concern, showing coasters going up and down the river Loon and Glasson Dock and the area .I was in Glasson the other day and spoke to a gent having a cofee at the cafe a local guy, who when I mentioned the film he asked me if I would make a cd of it ,and that he would buy one. The next local that I spoke to said the same. So I thought of bringing the film over to glasson, with the projector, and showing it in the village hall for all to see for free, any donations can go to children with cancer Great Ormand street London.So If anyone is interested and can set up somewhere to show the film, let me know. By the way I am not a stranger to Glasson. 62 years ago me and a dozen other pupils from our school In Colne, came to Glasson on our bikes with our teacher and tents to camp and help out on a farm there, haymaking ect for a week or more (Old Glasson farm) I use to wait for the coasters coming in and ask the skipper to carry his luggage to the pub and got half a crown! a lot of money then for a kid. You can't beat the Stork, south African landlady, great food.

For all you Beer Buffs out there, there is a new shop in Lancaster that has over 200 bottles ranging from regular prices to extreme for the collectors.
Hidden away down Sun Street is worth a visit.

Had a delightful meal at the gate house, lancaster. As a vegetarian, it was a welcome change to be catered for so thoughtfully. Will recommend to my friends

Had day out in Lancaster yesterday and went shopping in Lancaster at Market Gate shopping centre followed by lunch at Penny Street Bridge Hotel, delightful.

Recently visited Glasson Dock, which was very interesting. It would have been good to know something about the historic craft moored there eg. Catherine D.

the sea is blue in all children's novels, in reality it can be brown, green, blue and black.

The Dalton is now shut unfortunately but the "Vic" is still open for business.
A short walk down the canal towpath to the Mill for a pint and an excellent meal is well worth the effort.PS the sea round here is brown!

Wow!! What a fantastic renovation job done on this stunning character filled building! Its been transformed into a fabulous hotel, restaurant and bar. I couldn't believe the transformation when I first saw the tour on the advert, but its actually more impressive when you visit it. Well done whoever was responsible, and the best of luck for the future.
