Marinas
A favourite destination for those sailing to the Outer Hebrides and exploring the islands by boat, Stornoway is the largest harbour in the Outer Hebrides. Stornoway port is well sheltered and easy to access at all states of the tide for vessels up to a maximum length of 24 metres and 3m draft in all weather conditions.
The 80-berth marina provides a safe haven for island hoppers and day sailors, and with the marina located in a secure area right in the heart of the tow. With toilets, showers and laundry facilities available quayside, there is fresh water readily available on the pontoons along with shore power and Wi-Fi.
The Marina lies right in the heart of the town centre, which provides ample opportunity to explore the culture and tradition of Lewis that makes it so unique today. As the major settlement in the islands, Stornoway has all you would expect in a bustling coastal town, including a variety of restaurants, supermarkets, etc. Transport links can take visitors to see the most iconic attractions and activities that gained this island the accolade of being voted Europe’s top island by Tripadvisor in 2014.

The west coast of Lewis, the most northerly island in the Outer Hebrides, is rich in prehistoric remains, and no visitor to the island need ever lack for an interesting place to visit or something fascinating to see.
The magnificent Standing Stones of Callanish (or Calanais, which is the Gaelic version) are famous worldwide. No matter what the weather is like and however many visitors are present, these ancient stones have an enigmatic, magical quality that never fails to move.
Whatever inspired their construction, all agree that the experience of visiting the Standing Stones of Calanais is not one to be missed.
Restaurants
Expect hearty portions prepared with respect and love often accompanied by Pete on the grand piano.
All our food is sourced as locally and as ethically as possible. We have a kitchen garden and, in season, regularly serve our own potatoes, onions, spinach, carrots, parsnips, kale, herbs and courgettes. We also grow edible flowers. We source an excellent range of freshly caught fish and meat which is usually slowly and gently roasted or braised to create succulant tender tasty dishes in a traditionally Scottish manner.
We aim to please and (with advance notice) are happy to cater for your dietary needs. Most dishes can for example, be made gluten free.
The Decca is not licensed but you are welcome to bring your own wine or beer and we are happy to provide glasses. We sell a small range of non-alchoholic drinks available to purchase.
Evening meals must be booked in advance and we will discuss the menu in advance as we do not generally offer a choice.

Provisions
We are one of the leading producers of traditionally slow cured smoked salmon in the world, based in Stornoway, Isle of Lewis, Scotland.
As an artisan producer, we craft small amounts of our double Scottish smoked salmon for our discerning customers who appreciate its multi layered complexity and lingering subtleties. This splendid smoked fish, which was once seen as a luxury item, can be used in many recipes, from soup to sushi, as well as enjoyed on its own, or accompanied by a number of sides.
We are the heirs to 150 years of smoking tradition, located in Stornoway, on the Scottish Hebridean Isle of Lewis, the old centre of the herring industry. We are the last who smoke our own salmon in a seasoned brick kiln over smouldering embers, whilst using our own unique recipe. This allows the salmon to cure slowly over four to five days, as was the Stornoway way, rather than the more usual one day which prevails now.
The methods we use can greatly curtail our production, but it enhances the quality of our products.

Heb Hostel is a family run 4 star Backpackers Hostel in the centre of Stornoway, 5 minutes walk from the harbour.
The Hostel has 3 shared dormitories and a family dorm, hot showers, a self catering kitchen, a common room with peat fire, free wi-fi, a large garden with bbq hut, bike shed and drying room.
As well as the hostel dormitories, we have a cosy Shepherds Hut in the garden which sleeps 2 in a double bed and 1 basic double ensuite room.
We also have facilities available to non-residents such as Toilet and Shower facilities and a Coin-Operated Laundry.
Our establishment is clean, safe, friendly and relaxed and we look forward to welcoming you here.

Alex Dan's Cycle Centre has been run from its current location for the past 25 years. The Cycle Centre is now undergoing changes with its past owner retiring and the new owner Marc Hardy taking over the reigns.The Cycle Centre will be providing the same services that it used to do, with a slight change of direction which will take place over the coming years.
Alex Dan's Cycle Centre will still be supplying bikes from Raleigh, Trek and Dawes as well as supplying all related cycling accessories and clothing. The cycle centre will also continue to provide a service and repair facility as well as provide hire bikes.
