WORLD FAMOUS CROCODILE DIES
The world famous, friendly crocodile Pocho has died in the Caribbean town of Siquirres, Costa Rica at the age of 50. His owner, Chito, said the one eyed crocodile was domesticated and put on weekly shows on Sundays when he would command Pocho to do tricks such as winking, lifting his head and tail out of the water, rolling over and letting Chito put his head in his giant maw.
Chito’s wife Olga said, “All of the people in the village have offered their condolences and assistance.'
Chito discovered Pocho close to death on the bank of the Parisimina River 17 years ago. He had been shot in his left eye. Along with his friends Chito loaded the crocodile into a boat and took him back to Siquirress where he was nursed back to health. Chito even occasionally slept with Pocho during his recovery.
