Transatlantic rowers greeted by warship with chocolate and champagne

HMS Portland turned to the assistance of two transatlantic rowers, Pete Fletcher and Tom Hudson when they arrived at the Isles of Scilly after crossing the Atlantic from New York in 96 days, 23 hours and 50 minutes. The two adventurers had run out of food 20 days before and after putting in a call to Falmouth Coastguard the frigate HMS Portland came to their assistance passing them three days rations along with chocolate and champagne to celebrate the successful outcome of their voyage.
