STUART HALL PLEADS GUILTY TO SEX OFFENCES

Former ‘It’s a Knockout’ presenter, Stuart Hall has pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting children as young as nine. The veteran BBC sports presenter was arrested in December after allegations of assault on three girls aged between nine and sixteen between 1974 and 1984.

The 83-year-old appeared at Preston Magistrates Court where he pleaded guilty to 14 charges of indecent assault against children despite speaking to the press after an earlier hearing where he said, 'I shall be defending myself. I have never been through so much stress in my life... I'm 83 years old now and I was a healthy 83 year old but I am incubating a heart complaint and I will be very lucky to survive another couple of years, but I hope to survive those two years to regain my honour and my reputation and, more than ever, my life.'

Hall will be sentenced in June.
