SECOND CHANCE FOR ATLANTIC CROSSING


A Contessa 26 has completed the ‘Jester Challenge’ over a year after she first set sail. The yacht originally embarked on the single handed crossing of the Atlantic last June but suffered a cracked bulkhead forcing her back to shore.


But skipper Guy Waites remained determined to succeed. And succeed he did by sailing the Red Admiral from Plymouth to Newport, Rhode Island in 43 days.
