RAM RAIDED BY CONVICTED BANK ROBBERS
Nearly 18,000 was stolen from a security van when it was rammed by a prison van carry convicted bank robbers. The accident / robbery happened in Budapest when a prison van, that was transporting inmates back to jail from court, crashed into a security vehicle carry money belonging to a Hungarian bank.
Whilst the prisoners were rescued from the burning van by emergency services, civilians were seen pulling up in cars and snatching bags of cash that had spilled out of the security vehicle before speeding off. By the time the police arrived at the scene all the money had gone and there was no way of tracing the drivers.
Early suspicions that the robbery was an inside job involving gang members still at large were refuted when the prisoners insisted they had nothing to do with it. However a police spokesman had this to say, 'The bank remains very suspicious. Of all the vehicles that could have hit their van, it had to be one full of bank robbers.
