OLYMPIC TORCH IN SPACE

Saturday November 9th, 2013
ImageThe Olympic torch has made history by being taken on a spacewalk by Russian Cosmonauts Oleg Kotov and Sergei Ryazansky. The space duo exited the ISS (International Space Station) showing off the torch at about 14.30 hours, but the torch could not be lit due to safety reasons. However not being lit is no unique experience for this Olympic torch as it is estimated that it has accidently gone out over 40 times on its journey Sochi, a black sea resort.

The torch is for Russia’s February 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi.
