The next vessel to enter the round the world Clipper race has been put on display in Trafalgar Square

The 70ft GREAT Britain is one of a dozen identical yachts taking part in the world’s longest ocean race. She will set sail in September with a crew of all ages and experience.

Clipper Race chairman, Sir Robin Knox-Johnson, said ‘I can't think of a more fitting place to launch a GREAT Britain yacht than in Trafalgar Square... It's a unique project and I'm very proud that the Clipper Race can provide a powerful platform to promote Britain to a global audience... We have now taught 3,000 people to sail in the spirit of the original Clipper ships which plied the trade winds to make Britain a great maritime trading nation.'

GREAT Britain will be in Trafalgar Square until Sunday 4th August from 8am to 8pm
