MORRISSEY STORMS OFF STAGE

Monday November 9th, 2009
ImageFormer Smiths front man and patron the world of rock and roll icons, Morrissey has once again proven himself to be one of the world’s most temperamental (emphasis on mental and temper) artists. Only a fortnight after collapsing on stage because breathing problems he actually walked out of his own gig in a fit of temper.
With several dates already cancelled this year when he had, 'endured a titanic struggle against an intolerable virus' it took a plastic glass to send the Mozza into a rage truly befitting the ultimate indie prima-donna. Morrissey was half way into his second number at the gig at the Liverpool Echo Arena when someone through a plastic glass at the stage. It narrowly missed the singer causing him to stop mid-verse and storm off. He could not then be persuaded to return.
'Everyone just turned to each other in disbelief. At £35 to £45 a ticket, all we got was one song and a half,' said one nineteen-year-old audience member.
He’s not a legend for nothing.
