MOERER WIB2D NAVTEX AND BAROGRAPH

Tuesday June 23rd, 2009
ImageThis German import, the WIB2D is a barograph as well as a Navtex and receives weather forecasts by text from all stations within its range. The barograph also gives readouts of air pressure for the last 48 hours on the handset screen and can go back seven days if plugged into a PC.

The unit receives forecast messages on both frequencies – 290kHz for inshore and 518kHz for international. These are monitored simultaneously making it possible to filter them to the area that affects you most. Basically you can make your own decisions based on actual conditions.

The WIB2D is roughly the size of a cigarette packet and includes rechargeable batteries and built in antenna. The PC interface runs on Windows 2000, XP or Vista with the software included in the price, which is £399.
