MEXICAN CHEF IN IMIGRATION FIASCO

Wednesday March 4th, 2009
ImageA Mexican chef planning to work illegally in the UK was rumbled by Border agency officers when they found a ‘good luck’ card in his baggage. The 40-year-old claimed he was on a short trip to visit a friend who was opening up a Mexican restaurant in the north west of England. However when officers searched his bags the discovered a massive wad Mexican food recipes and a card from his local church saying ‘Good Luck with your new life in the UK’.
A spokesman for UK Border Agency said, 'We will not tolerate people coming here to work illegally. People wanting to visit the UK must play by the rules. Those who do not are sent back.'
The man was detained and admitted he was planning to work without a permit and hoped to bring his family over to join him if things worked out. He was sent back to Los Angeles the next day. It really is hard not to feel sorry for the crazy Amigo.
