MARRIAGE DEMANDS BY SOMALI PIRATES

SICK MARRIAGE OR RANSOM DEMANDS BY SOMALI PIRATES

A Danish family, kidnapped by Somali pirates last month have been offered their freedom on condition they allow the pirate leader to marry their 13-year-old daughter. The Johansen family were taken from their 43ft yacht ‘ING’ in the Arabian Sea, but following as botched rescue attempt by Somali government troops have been moved offshore to the hijacked Greek freighter, MS Dover, with 20 other hostages.

Jan Quist and Brigit Marie Johnasen have been told that if the marriage between their daughter Naja and the pirate leader is allowed the rest of the family will be released ‘without any conditions’. The pirates are demanding in the region of $5milion in ransom for the family and crew members if the wedding doesn’t go ahead.
