MARINA OF THE YEAR AWARDS

Mayflower marina was voted 'British Coastal Marina of the Year' by marina customers voting across the country, in The Yacht Harbour Association(TYHA) first ever marina awards.
Marflower is independently owned and run by Sailport PLC and is located at the River Tamar entrance in Devon. Sarah Treseder the CEO of the Royal Yachting Association presented Charles Bush, Mayflowers managing director with the award sponsored by GJW Insurance at the London Boat Show. Charles Bush said:
“What a fabulous way to start 2014, especially after all the awful weather'. He added that all of his staff are 'beaming with pride.'
It was also a successful scoop for Caen Hill inland marina in Wiltshire. Cara Hodgson-Read won the employee of the year for them, she was described by the berth holders as: “extremely friendly, efficient, approachable and very welcoming. She evens provides treats for visiting dogs'.Then along with her husband Rob, Caen Hill Marina won the inland marina of the year.
The Yacht Harbour Association’s Libby Gordon concluded:
“These awards are an excellent way to acknowledge the hard work that marina staff do not only in the UK, but all over the world.'
