BIDDING STARTS OF MARILYN MONROE BURIAL PLOT
The US widow of a former playboy businessman is currently auctioning her late husband’s burial plot that lies directly above that of movie legend Marilyn Monroe. The advertisement placed on eBay reads ‘Spend eternity directly above Marilyn Monroe.
Elsie Poncher who hopes to raise enough cash to pay off the mortgage on her $1.6mil Beverley Hills Mansion had this to say 'I can't be more honest than that… I want to leave it free and clear for my kids.'
Her husband, Richard Poncher died 23 years ago and, according to his wishes, he was buried face down in the tomb directly above the iconic sex symbol’s. After the sale his remains will be moved over on tomb to a plot purchased for Elsie. She intends to be cremated. The bidding opened at $500,000 and by Sunday it had reached $700,000. The plots were bought by Mr Poncher off Joe DiMaggio during his divorce from Marilyn Monroe.
