MAN SHOT IN BUTTOCKS BY DOG
A duck hunting trip at the north end of the Great Salt Lake, near Brigham City turned into a very painful experience for a 46 year old man.
The unnamed man from the US state of Utah was hunting in a canoe with his friend and the dog. He got off the boat to lay duck decoys leaving his shotgun on the canoe with the dog. The dog apparently stood on the gun in a way that made it fire a shot that hit the victim some 10 feet away in the bottom. Medical crews had to remove 27 pellets from his buttocks.
The sheriff said “The dog did something to make the gun discharge,I don't know if the safety device was on. It's not impossible the dog could have taken it off safety.'
The injuries could have been far worse if it wasn’t for the waders the hunter was wearing that softened the blow somewhat.
