LENIN ATTACKED 85 YEARS AFTER HIS DEATH

The iconic bronze statue of Bolshevik revolutionary, Vladimir Lenin has been bombed, resulting in a gaping hole in his backside. The attack happened in St. Petersburg in the early hours of Wednesday morning and as yet the motive is unknown.
A statement from the Russian emergency situations said, 'Today at 0430 [0030 GMT] there was an explosion at the Lenin monument at the Finland Station in the city centre… As a result of the explosion a crater of 80-100cm [31-39in] appeared on the monument.'
The monument to mark the location Lenin’s homecoming speech return from exile in April 1917, stands outside Finland Station. His embalmed boy is still on display in a mausoleum in Moscow.
