SIXTEEN YEAR OLD COMPLETES ROUND THE WORLD SOLO BID.

It was a triumphant return home on Saturday for Australian teen, Jessica Watson as she crossed the finish line of her solo circumnavigation after 210 days at sea. The sixteen year old, who set sail aboard the 34ft Ella Pink Lady last October was welcomed by literally hundreds of boats and a huge crowd at Sydney harbour. NSW Maritime tried in vain to maintain a 100-metre exclusion zone but were unable to prevent excited spectators rushing to greet the talented teenager

Fellow teen circumnavigators Jesse Martin and Mike Perham were amongst the first aboard the Pink Lady to congratulate Jessica. Brian Caldwell, David Dicks, Jon Sanders were also there to celebrate her success. Once ashore she was greeted on steps of Sydney Opera House by Australian Prime Minister, Kevin Rudd who said, 'At sixteen years old you are a hero to all young Australians. You are also a hero to all young Australian women. You do our nation proud.'

We think she’s pretty much a hero to everyone everywhere. Congratulations Jessica.
