As we all know how important it is to have internet access while on board your boat, we at Harbourguides have been looking at the different solutions. At present we use a Wifi antenna, but there are other options out there, and the “HubbaX4Go” is one of them.
So what is it? Well the HubbaX4Go is an extremely neat portable 4G LTE router that can generate a Wifi hotspot on your boat that is able to support up to 32 devices. It’s sounds ideal for a wide range of boats. It’s faster and cheaper than the Vsat systems and comes with an RJ45 port for wired network connectivity.
It also boasts up to 100Mbps download speeds, multiple frequency connections to 4G, 3G and 2G networks, duel SIM card holder options for those who cross borders, and much more.
It comes in at around £800, but when you consider the number of benefits it can provide, it seems quite reasonable.
The Harbourguides crew haven’t tried one out as yet, but as always we would love to hear from someone who has.
