Two houseboats being towed by a tug got into trouble in the English Channel resulting in the launching of Newhaven Lifeboat Daniel L Gibson. One of the 72ft (22 metre) houseboats subsequently sank seven miles from Newhaven resulting in a lot of floating debris some of which was recovered with the exception of a hot tub which was too large and left drifting in the English Channel.
