HMS PICKLE IN THE HUMBER

The Humber is to be the new home for a replica of HMS Pickle, Admiral Horatio Nelson's warship. It is soon to set sail from Portugal after the finishing touches have been made by a North Lincolnshire restoration team.

Although at the Battle of Trafalgar HMS Pickle didn’t take part in the fighting as she was too small, but she was the first ship to bring back the news of Nelsons victory to Britain.

She was also known for the capture of the French privateer “Favourite” a year before she was wrecked in 1808, thankfully without loss of life.

A great new addition to the Humber, why not take a look if in the area?
