A restored HMS M.33 Monitor boat from 1915 is to go on show at the National Museum of the Royal Navy in Portsmouth.
The 568 ton vessel quipped with two 6 inch guns and which could achieve 9 knots is the only surviving warship of the Gallipoli campaign. She was built in just seven weeks and had a complement of five officers and sixty-seven men.
Visitors will also be able to examine the dock itself, built in 1801 and thus get a unique outside view of this unique vessel. Visitors will also experience an immersive battle experience recreating life aboard the vessel giving a genuine feel as to what was like living under such cramped and stressful conditions.
