HARBOUR GUIDES IN OBAN
Wednesday December 3rd, 2008

This week Harbour Guides are paying a visit to Scotland’s unofficial capital of the highlands, Oban, a town with a Royal badge of approval courtesy of Queen Victoria herself. We have to say it comes as a very pleasant surprise that our expectations have actually been exceeded and we can officially state that Oban is one of the most beautiful places we’ve visited so far.
And as has been the case everywhere we have visited north of the border, we have been treated to a very warm welcome indeed. The pre-Yuletide atmosphere is building nicely with pantomimes and carol services already in full swing. It’s great to see so many people turning out for traditional get togethers in these days of home entertainment overload. The rest of the UK could do well to watch and learn.
Any way the Harbour Guides Crew will be around for a little while longer and hope to meet as many people as possible along the way. In the meantime thank you to everyone we have encountered so far for your hospitality, kindness and goodwill.
