Gipsy Moth IV, commissioned by Sir Francis Chichester for his 1966-67 circumnavigation of the world is to be on display at this year’s Jersey Boat Show. The restored 53 foot ketch was bought by the United Kingdom Sailing Academy and is available for charter and crewing opportunities. In 2004 restoration work cost around £300,000 at Camper and Nicholson’s in Gosport, where the yacht was originally built.
The show will start on Saturday 30 April and continue untill Monday 2 May (2016).
It’s the 50th anniversary of Sir Francis Chichester’s solo world breaking round the world journey. This year Gypsy Moth IV will be strutting her stuff at various maritime events around Europe.
The Harbourguides crew look forward to seeing her.
