GRUESOME FIND BY DUTCH RIVERBOAT CAPTAIN

Wednesday May 5th, 2010
ImageA Dutch sailor was shocked when he made a gruesome haul as he weighed anchor in Austria’s Danube River. Somewhat amazed that he had hooked a BMW, on closer inspection he discovered the dead driver still behind the wheel.

According to police reports the dead driver is believed to be Herbert Mistelbacher, a professional driver who went missing in March 2007. The car appeared to have been brand new when it went into the water near a hydroelectric power plant.

Captain Martin Mannak Holl of the Dutch riverboat Janny said: 'We thought the anchor was slow coming up and had snagged on something - and then it came up with a car attached to the end... It was a bit of a shock - especially when we saw the body inside.'
