Mario Amati, who founded Itama Yachts in Rome in 1969 has died age 83. The iconic brand was sold to Ferretti Group in 2004 and currently includes 45ft, 62ft and 75ft models: top speeds are from 34-50 knots
Mario was rightly extremely proud of his designs and had previously said:
“Itama motor yachts do not change every year to follow trends.
“I make boats for those who live well and want to live even better. These boats are symbols of happiness”.
Well said Mario, you will be sadly missed but always remembered and your legacy will live on and on.
