The drug that’s been dubbed “The Female Viagra” has now been approved by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) The new pill is aimed at helping premenopausal women get their sex drive back. It claims to do this by boosting certain chemicals to the brain.

The drug, Fibanserin is produced by Sprout Pharmaceuticals and was bought from a german company Boehringer Ingelheim after it was originally turned down by the FDA due to its lack of effectiveness weighed against the side effects which included nausea and fainting.

It now seems that Sprout Pharmaceuticals have improved the pill and therefore got the FDA approval. It will be called Addi and should be on the market in the US by mid October.

So who knows the old “Not tonight darling I’ve got a headache” could become a thing of the past.
