END OF PAGE THREE

Tuesday January 20th, 2015
ImageIt looks like the Sun newspaper has dropped its topless page 3 fixture, after over 40 years. It is thought that pressure from campaigners has forced executives at the paper to quietly stop the topless model photos. It seems the paper will continue with photos of scantily clad models on page three, but this time they will not be bare or bare breasted, instead wearing Lingerie, or swimwear.

The decision is not written in concrete though, as it is understood that if sales drop dramatically the decision could be reversed.

A spokesperson for the campaign against page three said: “This could be historic news and a great day for people power. We don't know the details for sure and there's still lots to be done. But this could be a huge step for challenging media sexism.”
