Joaquin Guzman the Mexican drug lord escaped from jail via a one and a half metre tunnel dug in the shower area of his prison cell.
The notorious leader, El Chapo or Shorty of the Sinaloa drug cartel is seen on CCTV footage entering the toilet and shower area of his cell, the next shot goes to the tunnel where he had escaped.
His escape had been predicted by many for some time, locals had seen dump trucks carrying thousands of tons of soil and rubble from a house nearby. And the US intelligence agency had picked up talk the drug lord may be carrying out a breakout, information they claim to have shared with the Mexican authorities.
Seems it’s very difficult to keep a man with his amount of money and power imprisoned in these South American countries.
