DYING KILLER CONFESSESS AND GETS BETTER
Tuesday March 24th, 2009

It took 32 years, finding God and a life-threatening stroke before Tennessee born James Brewer finally confessed to shooting dead his neighbour back in 1977. Then Mr Brewer got better and now faces a potential death sentence.
After over three decades on the lam, after jumping bail for the alleged murder of 20 year old Jimmy Carroll, the reformed and re-named killer suffered a stroke that he thought was going to kill him. He had found a new life in Shawnee, Oklahoma where he became Michael Anderson an active church-goer who attended regular bible study classes run by his wife, Dorothy. During his confession, the 58 year-old told police he had shot Mr Carroll because he believed he was trying to seduce his wife.
According to police detective Tony Grasso, who interviewed Mr Brewer in an Oklahoma hospital, 'He wanted to cleanse his soul, because he thought he was going to the great beyond.' Looks like he may well be heading that way after all.
