DRUNKEN SAILOR Loses Wife Overboard

Tuesday June 7th, 2011
DRUNKEN SAILOR ‘LOSES WIFE OVERBOARD’

When rescuers reached a drifting boat off the south coast of Sweden they feared the worst. The owner of the boat had told emergency services that his wife had fallen overboard and drowned.

When the rescue team boarded the boat they found it had a broken tiller and a very drunken sailor in charge. They also discovered that the Swedish sailor’s wife had not actually been on board as he had forgotten to pick her up. She was, in fact on, dry land, safe and sound, and wondering what had happened to him.

After fixing the tiller the rescue team towed the sloshed skipper and his boat back to shore, where he was promptly breathalysed and arrested for sailing whilst intoxicated.
Then he had to face his wife!
