The Severn class lifeboat from Brixham went to the aid of six people reported in the water after their speedboat sank in Torbay. On arrival they found a passing dive vessel Jennifer Anne had already rescued the people from the water. They were transferred to Torbay lifeboat station. Their speedboat, which had originally set out from Teignmouth sank completely and could not be recovered.
