STAR WARS VS DR WHO IN NORWICH

It all got a bit heated in East Anglia this week when rival sci-fi conventions hosted by the Norwich Sci-Fi and Film Convention and the Norwich Star Wars Club clashed with pens, autograph book and light sabres. Police had to be called in when members of the Norwich Sci-Fi Club arrived at the rival event to collect autographs from two ex Dr Who cast members.

Treasurer of Norwich Sci-Fi Club, Jim Poole was asked to leave when he asked Graham Cole for an autograph. An altercation then broke out between fans dressed as Imperial storm Troopers and various Dr Whos.

The Dr Who organiser, 63 year-old Richard Walker claimed that ‘the visiting club had been trying to undermine and embarrass the convention by posting comments on social media sites such as Facebook.’

Mr Poole was said he was attending ‘in good faith to collect autographs from two actors for a Doctor Who signature diary to be auctioned for charity.’ He was made to sit in the back of a police car until the situation calmed down.
There was obviously something dark within the force that day.
