COLD WEATHER FRONT COMING

Tuesday January 27th, 2015
Well, sorry the be the bearer of bad news, but Britain is going to be hit by another cold weather front this week, with some parts of the UK will experience quite a lot of snow, and temperatures dropping as low as minus 10C through the night going into Thursday.

A yellow warning (Be Aware) has been issued by the MET Office in large areas from the North West of England to East Anglia, and travel is expected to be disrupted.

Almost all of the UK will be hit with wintry showers, with high ground in Northern England is expected to accumulate around 5cm of snow, but high ground in Scotland and Ireland can expect up to 10cm.

The warning issued by the MET Office said: 'A cold front is expected to cross the UK during Wednesday, introducing much colder conditions to central and northern England in particular. Very strong winds will accentuate the cold. Snow showers are likely in most areas, but especially the north west where significant accumulations are likely to build up, especially in hilly areas.'

During this period please try and check up on the elderly or people in poor health.
