CLIPPER 2017/2018 SKIPPERS

Congratulations to the 12 Clipper Yacht Race Skippers on their appointments. It takes a special kind of skipper and sailor to be picked for this prestigious event.

Harbourguides always follow the Clipper with interest, as it is unique to all other round the world yacht races. Firstly, they go “The wrong way round the world” and secondly the crew are mostly new to sailing. They do however have to go through all the necessary sailing courses, usually fast track.

This year however, we will be paying more attention than usual, because one of the skippers, Lance Shephard is well known to the Harbourguides Crew. Lance has skippered the Harbourguides yacht Knight Song some years ago. He is a fantastic skipper and natural sailor. Anyone sailing with him on the Clipper adventure will be in safe and fast hands.

On behalf of the Harbourguides Crew Congratulations to all the skippers, but a special one for Lance.

Bon voyage to you all
