CAPTAIN HOOK AND THE OPERA – JOKE

Captain Hook decided he was getting too old for life as a swashbuckler and decides to live of his twilight years as a landlubber. He chose a house in a cozy little town filled with character and culture overlooking the sea and introduced himself to the local with hopes of being accepted into the community.

Unfortunately Hooks crusty reputation came before him. He was regarded by one and all as a crusty, drunken and violent pirate with no culture. This saddened the old villain but he was determined and when he saw that the local theatre was staging a production of Gilbert & Sullivan’s Pirates of Penzance he bought tickets for a box and invited several upstanding townspeople, all of whom accepted.

The opera was a huge success and Captain Hook enjoyed every minute. Throughout the show he noted how his guests behaved and endeavoured to act in a similar fashion. Things were going well.

At the end of the show the cast received a standing ovation and no less than four curtain calls. The audience applauded enthusiastically throughout and Hook followed their lead accordingly. By the time the curtain finally went down his guests were completely splattered in blood and skin and he needed a hook for the other hand.
