CAP ON STOLEN PHONE BILLS

Sunday March 22nd, 2015
At last some sort of protection to stop anyone receiving a huge bill after having their mobile phone stolen. Five major networks have agreed to cap any bill to £100, but only if the phone is reported within 24 hours.

Network provider “Three” had already started the cap back in January, “EE” will follow suit in the next couple of weeks, both “Virgin” and “Vodafone” will implicate it in July, and “O2” won’t be coming on board until September.

Mobiles are sometimes stolen to be used to call premium telephone numbers which can generate absolute gigantic bills, some have been reported as being as high as £23,000.
