
British sailor Trudi Bubb, 50, was injured in a fall in the galley aboard the Unicef team yacht which subsequently diverted to Shanghai to seek medical assistance. The yacht is competing in the Clipper Round the World Yacht Race and the skipper, Paul Atwood reported slamming, driving rain and 50 –60 knots winds peaking at 92 knots. The accident took place 120 nautical miles south-east of Shanghai. Advice for the injury was also given using the race’s remote telemedicine service.
