BROOM BACK IN BUSINESS
Broom Boats have announced that they will they will recommence boatbuilding at their yard in Brundall, Norfolk after securing up to seven new boat orders. The company have appointed two new dealers who between them have already brought in £1.5 to £2.5 million worth of business.
27 of the workforce who were made redundant following the closure have been reinstated. They include 21 boat builders and 6 moulders.
Broom MD,Mark Garner said of the new deals, 'I am pleased to say we have completed a total business review and reorganisation...We also have a new dealer network which has provided us with sales... sufficient for us to re-employ some of our past talented boatbuilding craftsmen... As a result we have been able to appoint a new and inspired management team, confirm total staff of 74 to both build boats and run marina services as one company, Broom Boats Ltd.'
